3rd and 4th! What a race!
« on: Sunday, March 16, 2014 »
Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! FINALLY! That kid Magnusen is every bit as good as Lewis was right out of the box. What a brilliant race for that young man!

I gotta admit though: I got a bit teary eyed seeing Ron Dennis in the pits again. God, it's good to have him back!

2nd and 3rd is better! I think Button was flattered by a lucky pitstop with the safety car. Good result all round though.

I **** loved it! I tell you guys my favorite part was hearing Vettle cry like a little girl on the radio again. I swear that **** needs to grow a pair and man up.

Hamilton once again showed his ass. He was flat out told to pit and just drove right past it. Did you hear how they tried to cover for his punk ass? Then of course in the interview he said he did it deliberate because he didn't want to quit?

That guy needs a **** wake up call. He's become so delusional it's laughable. He's not quite as bad as Vettle is but he sure is getting there in a hurry.

Yea, I did notice that. Lewis has let the media hype about him go straight to his head. He's gotten a God complex lately and it's going to bite him right in the ass before it's all over. He did that a few times at McLaren: Ignore what his engineer was telling him and do what he wanted rather than what was asked of him. It cost him a world title. He should have two by now. His own arrogance cost him the second one. (Which should have been his first.)

And as far as Vettle crying like a ****, I loved that too. And he's in for a long season of it. McLaren still have a lot of issues to sort out on the car as does Ferrari on theirs. Thing is, we and Ferrari have a power plant that works, so all we have to do is sort the chassis. Red Bull have a good car, but it's going to be a long, long road to sort their entire power plant out.

When Red Bull engineers are writing the software for the engine supplier because they just can't make it work, you've got SERIOUS issues.

I predicted this would happen months ago at the Mercedes forum. I've been proven 100% correct.

Buy stock in Kleenex, folks. Vettle is going to use it up in record amounts this season.

And one final note, a brilliant drive and tip of the hat to Ricciardo. He drove a brilliant race. A pure shame this DQ is going on. I only just now found out about it. Red Bull should be ashamed of themselves for screwing him out of a good result. IF they had done as the FIA stewards had suggested, chances are he would have lost his podium finish, but he still would have secured good points.

What a damn shame.

Red Bull deserve whatever the hell happens to them.

One more thing - am I the only one that thinks Bottas had the drive of the race? That guy was brilliant. Shame that **** kamikaze took out Massa. It would have been nice to see if both Willaims cars could have taken points.

No difference though. They've already scored as many points in the first race than they did all of last year. Nice to see Williams getting back to form. I hope they keep it up.

You are correct. Bottas definitely drove THE drive of the race. Well done to him and Williams.

Great results for a few teams and drivers.

But IMO, how lame do those cars sound.

It's not that the sound is that bad, it's that there just isn't enough of it. It's the first time in my life that I could here the tire squelch over the engines at the start . They're just too damn quite.

The aussie organizers are apparently moaning about breach of contract because of the lack of sound. They sound very electric under braking.

The williams, although nico drove away i thought the williams looked the best racer out their as said above shame massa went out we could have got a better judgement then with 2 running.

Absolutely.

If Bottas hadn't tagged the wall of champions, I bet he finishes 3rd easy...maybe even 2nd.

And the Japanese back at torpedoing everybody under the sun. God damnit somebody needs to tell them the war is over.

I read that. I think it's a bunch of bullshit. I mean, they all knew the engines weren't going to be nearly as loud. That had been revealed during testing. I think they're pissed off because they once again didn't make money on the race and they want a way out.

The williams, although nico drove away i thought the williams looked the best racer out their as said above shame massa went out we could have got a better judgement then with 2 running.

I read where they admitted to not having a clue about how to set the car up for the wet, which is why they qualified so badly. But obviously, that damn thing is quick. Hopefully we'll see what they really have at Malaysia. Kamikaze allowing them to make it past T1 notwithstanding.

I can see where they're coming from in that they're disappointed with the sound, but it's not like they didn't sell tickets because of the sound. Any tickets they sold were sold long before the event ever happened. They can't sit there and say "We lost money because people didn't hear the cars from 3 miles away and come running up to buy all the tickets at the last second".

It's not a viable argument.

Controversial, I know, but I like the new sound. The screaming v10 and 8 just hurt. If I'm going for pain I prefer it in other areas  ;)
The best sound over the past few years has been the safety car or the medical car! The main reason I bought my Mercedes was because of the sound...oh and the torque.....

I still think if they just get the sound engineers to amp up the sound, it'll be fine. It's a good sound, it's just not very loud.

Funny part is that many tracks in Europe had issues with people complaining about the sound being too loud. I remember Spa having to go to court to hold the race over sound ordinances back about 15 years ago.
